2020 Boys Fall Ball 1st-4th Grade

Boys 1-4th Grade:

We are really excited to announce a revamp of the WYLC boys fall ball program.  We are offering a 6-week program, 2 nights per week that will be run by Ted Bergman, an assistant coach for Harvard Men's lacrosse.  Ted will be designing and coaching the 6-week program and WYLC coaches and WHS players will be assisting.  This program will be geared towards players that are looking to take their skills to the next level with position specific drills and college level coaching.

His sessions will be segmented into four parts.  Following a regimented warm up, 10-15 minutes will be dedicated to stick work, with a hyper-focus on the proper fundamentals. Next will be a station circuit, which will make up the bulk of each session.  Coach will be overseeing 5 stations: Shooting, Dodging, Feeding/Finishing, On-Ball Defense and Athletic Development.  The drills at each station will vary depending on the focus for that day.

For example, the dodging station will have a specific focus each week (dodging to score, dodging to feed, dodging to re-dodge, double-move dodging, etc.).  This progression of skill development will be evident at each station throughout the fall.

Finally, each session will conclude with game-like scenarios.  From 4v4’s, 5v4’s, 6v6, and Man Up/Man Down, these competitive playing scenarios will allow all players to incorporate the skills they acquired in the stations to real game action.

*All sessions will be structured and follow mass.gov state guidelines for Covid-19, like the successful sessions we offered this summer. *
